A Letter From Dirk

Dirk2011

Hiya all ya’ Whippersnappers!

The last California tour went great. In the high dessert there was wind and dust and horny toads ablowin’ and I swear I saw lightning strike a rattler zippin’ by. Steve Key’s songwriter series in San Luis was fun and Laguna Beach was a beautiful refuge for me as usual (thanks again Donna and Barry).

Thousands Oaks didn’t seem to have that many (Oaks) but the show was good vibey and fun. Diane and Miguel were gracious and down to earth hosts at the house concert in Berkeley and the Blackwater was, as usual, home for me and the show was intimate and warm.

I got to meet with lots of dear friends and spent time chillin’, as they say, up in Mendocino for Thanksgiving. There’s much to be thankful for. In fact, I go around feelin’ grateful most of the times these days.

Sara Terry and her crew have been following me, and other musicians around for the last 2-plus years. They even came to Italy last summer for the annual ‘Dirk and The Bluesmen tour. They are in the final phase of shooting now and have launched a “kickstart” campaign to help finance their full-length documentary, “FOLK”. Check it out at this link:

Sara does wonderful work. Please contribute even just 10 bucks to help these fine folks get this sucker out there! It’s the opposite of all these tv shows about music. There are some real artists in this film doing real music.

American ex-patriot Mark Stenzler, the promoter of the solo gig I did in Bern, Switzerland last summer, did an extended interview with me the day after my show. It felt like a pretty darn good one. Here’s the link:

"listeners will need to have real player installed"

My very best to everyone. Please consider Dirk Hamilton CDs for Christmas gifts. They’re easy to wrap, and to mail and to impress your friends with your knowledge of obscure artists!

OCCUPY EVERYTHING!
(please)

Dirk
